Just notes so far.

This was the day of finishing the loading, and trucking the move. So it was very very long.

The 26 foot truck I drove was governed at 60 MPH which made it longer than it had to be.

There was a full moon, or pretty close.

The only fireworks to be seen were on the outskirts of Winslow, and they seemed surreal visions through the profound weariness.

During the ponderously slow trip, I noticed a phenomenon I am calling the Grinning Guy Billboards. Most of the grinning guys, half at least, are lawyers. But there are also car dealers. Realtors, half of whom are grinning women. Radio personalities.

My takeaway from noticing this is twofold. One, I never want to grin down from the motoring masses from a billboard.

Two, I think that my life would be improved if I never have to deal with any of the grinning guys in any capacity whatsoever–not even listening to them on the radio.

That’s all I have for Independence Day proper, reconstructed from the notes.
