1) Be a real journalist instead of a shill and dig up real dirt on illegal government surveillance and other real and serious crimes.
2) Watch while the substance of the illegality is completely ignored and no one pays a price.
3) Get slammed as a criminal yourself for being the messenger that brings the bad news.
It happened to Greenwald. It happened to Assange. And now we’re on step 3 with Taibbi.
Those are not the only examples, just the most significant ones in recent memory.
I hope you’re enjoying the theater, and I hope that at some point you’ll go back thoughtfully to consider what these people have paid such a price to reveal to your civilian eyes.
