US Claims Chinese “Incursion” Near Taiwan, US Sells Taiwan Millions in Arms as Next Proxy War Brews
Brian Berletic from the New Atlas explains what’s going to happen and why.
I want to track off to the side a bit and explain why the very idea of a Chinese ‘incursion’ near Taiwan is ridiculously stupid.
In 1945 the World War ended and the Japanese were kicked out from their murderously brutal occupation of China.
That meant that the Chinese civil war could proceed, or more precisely, resume.
Long story short: the Communists won an overwhelming victory, and the remnants of the losing ‘democratic’ capitalist faction fled to a Chinese island which most of the western world called Formosa, but which the east had long known as Taiwan.
Imagine for a moment that in the US Civil War, the Confederacy, instead of surrendering, moved themselves wholesale to the US Virgin Islands, and both sides agreed that there was only one legitimate United States of America–the only disagreement being about who was going to run it when it came to issues like slavery.
Over time, there would be total worldwide agreement on this “one-US policy”, and most of the world would finally recognize that fact that, yeah, okay, there is only one US, and obviously it’s the big one that won the war, rather than the rebel escapees down in the Caribbean.
That’s what happened to China and their rebel island. Over time, the government on Taiwan was reduced to a roughly rebel province recognized formally as a country by almost no other government in the world, and booted from the United Nations (in 1971) for not actually being a nation. Only one China, and sorry guys, but you’re just not it.
The US has itself diplomatically agreed with the “one-China policy” for decades.
But now they want to “alter the agreement”, Darth Vader style.
You probably knew most of that. You probably didn’t know that given all that, the US has already invaded China, and they are planning as of February 2023 to invade it a lot harder.
U.S. to Expand Troop Presence in Taiwan for Training Against China Threat
“The U.S. is markedly increasing the number of troops deployed to Taiwan, more than quadrupling the current number to bolster a training program for the island’s military amid a rising threat from China.
The U.S. plans to deploy between 100 and 200 troops to the island in the coming months, up from roughly 30 there a year ago, according to U.S. officials. The larger force will expand a training program the Pentagon has taken pains not to publicize as the U.S. works to provide Taipei with the capabilities it needs to defend itself without provoking Beijing.”
“A rising threat from China” to … China … Jesus.
There logically can be no threat, nor incursion either. Sorry, all you saber-rattling fans of independence and liberty, all you sixty-some percent of the Murican public who think this fucking around with Taiwan might be a good idea in any way, shape, or form.
Paradoxes of logic aside …
Tell me how you’d feel if the Chinese sent a couple hundred heavily armed “advisors” to the Virgin Confederate Islands on the other side of the world right off the mainland American shore.
You’d be itchin’ for a fight then, too, wooncha?
America is very much in the business of Itchy, regardless of the facts and the situation.
I respectfully dissent.
