Really it was just a day of putting my house back in order from the holiday, except that by “my house” I mean not only the concrete adobe abode, but also the expanding digital space in which I shall commence writer-business.
I tested, for example, my first Woo-Commerce project (“It looks like you’ve deployed your first Linode! Congrats!”). It’s a way of selling things through WordPress infrastructure, and I learned that I don’t necessarily need a site different from this one. Because this site already runs on WordPress, you know, and W-C is available via plug-in on any W-P.
Something to consider.
I was also on the wrong end of a text storm from my former Chair (the good one). Wrong end, because she’s still attached to the place, even if she does hate the leadership more than I do. And that all needs working out. I respond because I like her, and because she’s a valuable reference if I do go crawling miserably back to applying and petitioning for some wage slave thing … but it does cost me, in that I briefly have to get dragged back into that slime pit. Mentally.
Here’s a prayer that another good sleep will heal that flesh wound, so I can get back to thinking about nothing but What Matters in a new cold December morning.
