INTERFERENCE and The SHIFT in the BASE

I don’t love Chhoda as much as I’ve loved Evo. But even so, he’s a model for me in some ways going forward, a great source of information, and a manly heart that’s mostly in the right place.

The video is full of graphs like this one that provide some hope, based on such things as my fat generation dying off and leaving the place to young people with more sense. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s going to be too little too late on the climate change front and associated doomsday scenarios (sorry about that, kids!) … but cause for some conditional hope at least.

Another little bit in there surprised me. There are a lot more people around these days with college degrees, and of course a college degree is still going to have some effect on making people less stupid and right-wing. Pack that together with rising numbers of minority voters, and the Republicans are going to have their hands full just remaining a major party. This of course is why they’re so totally behind voter suppression on every front. But there’s no way they can suppress their way to victory forever.

The real challenge won’t be on that foul side of the question anyway. The real challenge will be in the new wave of voters not selling out to neoliberal bullshit that the Bidens and Pelosis of the world would have them swallow. The DNC isn’t offering anything in the way of a true alternative. We can only pray that an Ocasio-Cortez insurgency wipes the floor with both Harris and, oh, Marco Rubio in four years.
